Someone took the time to check my usersername name and cross reference it. In 30 within minutes from posting. Since then I've probably sent millions their way. Which is cool and all. However, seems they've lost that customer centricity.

Thirty minutes later I get an email saying I'm getting a refund and to monitor better. Didn't ask or expect that. But still that was brilliant ustomer service.

A wee story, back in the early days when aws was S3 and EC2 and pretty much nothing else. I left a VM running for a month. 400 dollars. My fault totally. I posted on twitter (back in the day) something along the lines of "nothing like a 400 dollar bill to remind you of a running VM."

Today I'm releasing AotAnywhere, a package which enables cross platform publishing support for dotnet NativeAOT. Before this package you had to use multiple different runners, with AotAnywhere you can publish for all targets from any single host. This is continuing the great work of @migeel.sk
Graphic showing all supported environments to build on, and all supported environments the resulting binary can run on.

I think often these sorts of requirements happen when the customer/domain/business is very 'national' . e.g. government, legal etc. I've seen that in NL.

yeah we had to, there is no v8 or HybridCache even though it supports net8.0 (and netstandard2.0, net462 etc).
100
Damian Hickey @damian.social · 26/05/2026
Not saying it's pretty but they work. MS.Ext don't follow semver either oc. Made this call in a library recently when we wanted to take a dependency HybridCache. Whole things needs a fresh look imo.

Damian Hickey @damian.social · 26/05/2026
The MS.Ext packages (most of or all) are not tied to a specific SDK / runtime otherwise the nuget package for a given version would declare a single TFM. This has been the case for some time.
