This was a nice way of telling some of The Beatles story, with the songs as the conversation between Lennon & McCartney. A bit more pro-Paul than John.

Heroes, every single one of them. They took a stand on their principals and risked what were precious jobs in recession-riddled 80s Ireland.

This one is part of my first year in my degree. I read it to familiarise myself with it but I will be dissecting it in full in my course. Incredibly moving with some massive themes

This is a brilliant account of one of the most secret organisations that had such influence on the country, from 1916 up to the end of the Civil War

Published in 1985, this was an excellent examination of apartheid in every strata of South African society. It's shameful that 40 years later apartheid is still active in places like Palestine.

The first shots of the 1916 Rising were fired in Laois. Under direct orders from Pearce, the railway line was sabotaged. When a railway inspector (named Dalton!) came along to investigate, shots were fired at him. Credit to Cormac Moore for writing the book on Laois's involvement.

Brushing up on some fundamentals before I start my degree next month. This is heavy on the details but also very readable in terms of explaining the Before and During of the Reformation.

Excellent read with much tension. A little heavy on yachting/sailing terminology but not enough to take away from the narrative. The wider context of this book warning against a German invasion of England compared to Childer's later adventures of importing German arms on the Asgard for 1916 Rising.
