Very disappointed in AirDrop's #accessibility in Mac OS Tahoe. Using VoiceOver for testing, needed to share a screenshot to my other Mac: No update on transfer status beyond initial 'boop', nor any notification when the transfer completed. If I had an actual #disability, I'd never know it finished!

New post! dalmatian.life/2026/07/28/a... #art #digitalart #MyLittlePony #FriendshipIsMagic #101DalmatianStreet #101DS You know the funny thing is, I made this art before the G6 announcement 😂

Twilight Sparkle looking a bit concerned, with Spike to her left as a Dalmatian looking even more concerned. Triple D, in pony form, are upset with Twilight: Deja Vu asks "What have you done to us?!", Dallas asks "How do I care for a mane?!", and Destiny asks "Are there any foxes in the Everfree Forest?"

yes, and the answer is: Libby! If your institution has comics and graphic books in their collection, they'll surface in search.

I lived less than two miles from stormfront HQ, so it was that sort of societal poison. The more I think about it, you're right. This isn't even capital-A Atheism, this is something special that could only exist in SoFla. I rescind my prior comment generalising it lmao

110

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 05/05/2026

Part of it was influenced by the large neonazi movement in FL, so ofc vile things about Jewish people But also encouragement to burn down churches and even ways to start untraceable fires Basically all the horrible stuff the far right does but against Christians. Good summary: Far right atheism.

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 05/05/2026

I had the misfortune of living in Florida for a few years and I think the atheists there were former Jehovahs Witnesses the way they would go around. Standing on corners passing out really hateful pamphlets. Etc. I'm happy you aren't like that and I'm aware most aren't. Still, they exist.

I've long said that lower-case atheism is not only acceptable but to be expected in the wide amount of different people on Earth, but upper-case Atheism is probably more cringe and proselytising than even American Evangelism. They act high and mighty, like they're better than everyone. No one is.

He died months later and it caused me a crisis of faith. I was agnostic-atheist for the majority of my teen years. I can't tell you exactly what led me back to religion and to Christianity; I have always been inspired by the teachings and values of Jesus Christ and I think that's a big part of it.

100

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 27/04/2026

BTW, I was raised in a family with multiple religions represented. At 10 my grandfather gave me books on Hinduism, Taoism, and Buddhism, the Qur'an, the Holy Bible, and a separate book on Judaism. He said that I needed to study and decide what I believed, and not believing any was a valid option.

100

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 27/04/2026

Really, what I think I want to say here is: you do you, I'll do me, and we can all be disappointed at the magas that have never understood nor felt the Word nor Love of God in their lives. Because if they did, they certainly wouldn't act that way towards their fellow brothers and sisters.

100

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 27/04/2026

The New Testament is more grounded in actual history and depicts events that can be shown to have actually happened by historians and archaeologists. Not the miracles, those you have to believe with faith, but most of the other events have been proven to have happened.

110

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 27/04/2026

I have read the Bible twice, cover to cover, once when I was 16 and again when I was 34. I am still a practicing Christian. I believe that the "stories" most people are fixated on as being "not true" are fables meant to illustrate lessons in concrete ways - which would have been effective then.

Shoutout to my former next door neighbour that played The Black Parade at 100% volume one day during the height of the pandemic. I sang along so hard. I'm doing that right now since the adjoining flat is presently empty, and it just reminded me of that day.

A script you can use if you’re not good at speaking on the spot.

I'm calling to demand that Senator Schumer not allow Donald Trump to take away access to transgender health care for anyone, let alone people with federal or state health insurance.
Trans healthcare is lifesaving medicine. It is not cosmetic or frivolous; it is miraculous and it is vital.
It is not something trans people can just go without.
[You can add a personal anecdote here-how it has helped you or someone you love, how long you've been receiving trans healthcare, etc.J Trans people are also over twice as likely to live in poverty, which means they are often receiving this care through government-funded programs. They simply cannot afford it otherwise. If this care is lost, trans American lives will be lost too. This is the truth.
If none of this stirs the Senator's compassion, please understand that trans people are, as a group, politically active, and they are rarely Republicans. The Senator should understand that if he caves and allows Trump to do this to us, it would be a betrayal of his constituents at an unforgivable level. If he caves, I will never vote for a Democrat again. I will not vote for a Democrat for president, for senator, for dogcatcher. This is a promise.

I want to heart this because he's finally not going to be superintendent. But that's not a great purpose in life either, really.

020

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 19/09/2025

If there really was a looming threat, this was the worst way to handle it. The community is likely to follow projects/forks led by the people who were unceremoniously removed - so any threat they know of, but are not sharing, can't be properly acted upon. And that's a no-win scenario for Ruby.

180

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 19/09/2025

At this point, what @rubycentral.org has done is a form of supply chain attack: taking ownership of a widely used repository, and then denying access to its existing maintainers. This reminds me of the GitHub mass-assignment bug. That is not something you want to remind me of if you want goodwill.

180

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 19/09/2025

Yeah, software supply chain attacks are scary. They keep me, and many others in the Linux packaging world - and the greater DevOps world - up at night. The solution is not ripping access from maintainers that we have long-standing relationships with. This gives the opposite of trust.

160

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 19/09/2025

Project leadership is hard, and you want people the community trusts there. *Especially* during transition periods, if that is what they are really wanting, it is vital to maintain a sense of continuity. These moves are contrary to OSS ethos, not to mention basic human dignity.

190

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 19/09/2025

This statement from @rubycentral.org does not give me the warm and fuzzies; transparency, equity, and collaboration in an open-source style do not happen in the dark, nor can they happen without honesty and dialogue with existing contributors.

Anna (Spots) @dalmatian.life · 19/09/2025
