In her review for The Common, Britta Stromeyer said that Edy Poppy's ANATOMY. MONOTONY is "a daring story that seamlessly blends fiction with autobiographical elements, creating a narrative that is both emotionally raw and poetic." Go read more of what Britta had to say at thecommononline.org.

The pamphlets were self-published and self-distributed, technically putting them in the public domain. Then, in 1992, Dalkey Archive published FIRE THE BASTARDS without Green’s knowledge or permission. As you can see, he was not enthusiastic about this. (2/3)
On consulting a copyright lawyer you will fied that under the old for permission to reprint my "fire the bastards!" (an uncopyrighted work) and I refused permission, you became subject to my "common-law copyright." I demand that you, having committed piracy against my common-law copyright, (1) destroy all copies, printing plates, etc., of your edition of Fire the Bastards! print no more copies; (2) recall all copies from bookstores and libraries, as well as review and complimentary copies (one copy may be
retained by you and by me, for legal purposes), and make a good-faith effort to recover copies from paying customers; (3) according to the old law's penalties, forfeit to me the total gross receipts from sales of your edition. (These penalties are not to be confused with royalties. I will not accept royalties from your edition because this would condone your piracy. When I have the time and money I will get a lawyer and enforce my rights in court. You are required, however, to take the above steps before being sued.

Your behavior, as always, has been highly unethical. Your intention about my work has been and is to insult and demean it, and to leave your sneaky cockroach stains on it. Now you are sentimentalizing the poorly written old newspaper, and confusing intention with achievement. This is because you can feel superior to my immature writing, and this is why you dismiss, by comparison, my newspaper #18, I'm Going Daneing with Lesly Lesby 01982; it has several alternate titles including Preliminary Edition?, and Snaps.

It is only a matter of time before the literary and humorous value of these mature works is recognized, along with, I hope, that of Return to jack green's newspaper (in progress), which will contain a version of “fire the bastards!" as I would have written it in 1962 if I had been able to write well. You will then be remembered only by a footnote in Return. Certainly none of your work will survive.

FIRE THE BASTARDS was originally published by Jack Green as a series of scorching pamphlets in the 1960s. A vicious, black-comedy assault on the literary establishment, and the way that they had failed William Gaddis and his novel, THE RECOGNITIONS (1/3)

Deciding that the title was too strange for the average reader, Markson began to send it around with the “Ghosts” title. After Dalkey Archive made it clear that we were not intimidated by the title, Markson renamed it once again, circling back to Wittgenstein.

Dalkey Archive is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of poet, writer, mathematician, and prolific member of the Oulipo group, Jacques Roubaud. We were fortunate enough to publish a dozen of his brilliant, and endlessly inventive books. He will be missed.
Jacques Roubaud writes an equation on a whiteboard in a classroom. In the top corner is his name, the year of his birth, and the year of his death.
