Overnight Visitor Levy: Campaign for Better Transport reacts
"The Overnight Visitor Levy will enable mayors to invest in transport and other improvements, benefitting local people, visitors and the area as a whole. Introducing new taxes is never easy, but giving revenue-raising tools like this to local leaders - who know their transport networks and economies best - will bring us closer in line with our European neighbours on local transport provision. However, as devolution progresses at pace, it is vital that those areas without mayoral authorities are not left behind on this journey."
