I’m quite confused about Welsh and English oaks, but not for the reason one might think. My family name is Oak. My 17th century immigrant ancestor is said to have been Welsh, but some genealogical records suggest he was English. It’s impossible to know what to believe.

Some yes, some no. To me, political party identification never meant being all in. When other R’s talked about “RINOs,” that was an early sign I wasn’t welcome. That was pre-Trump. Trump took over the party, and I was done. W created PEPFAR. He also went into Iraq. Politics is never uncomplicated.
