Medicare Advantage needs to be eliminated, not reformed. And regular Medicare Part A, B, C, and D should be consolidated with prices drastically lowered, so people don't have to constantly struggle to get things covered. Make it like the VA... you just go and don't worry about cost.

He needs to follow that with the thing that's actually doable and vastly improves representation: increasing the number of seats in congress via the "Wyoming Rule". This only requires a law, not a constitutional amendment.

Oregon has a thing called Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) and so many of the selections are excellent: www.oregonbattleofthebooks.org/2026-2027-ob... . I believe you can also find lists from previous years. We REALLY enjoyed Leonard, My Life as a Cat and Better With Butter from previous years.

The trades are great but most are very hard on the body. In a societal sense, it only makes sense if people have access to affordable healthcare and a decent pension after they've sacrificed their bodies for the benefit of everyone else.

My partner is a K-12 teacher and from their stories, I really think classroom computers need to have "approved sites" only access to the web - that if kids need less restricted access, they should have to go to the school library.

For me, I drive a very old car and only drive about 250 miles/month, so my total annual costs are about $2200. The nearest bus stop is over a mile away and I can no longer safely ride my bike in busy traffic, so I too must drive. I do delivery as much as I can but that's just someone else driving.

010

Dale Frakes @dalefrakes.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

The main challenge of this analysis is that it frames a systemic problem (lack of effective transportation options) as one easily solvable by individual choices. My partner won't know where they're subbing until 30 minutes before needing to be there and it's often over 10 miles away, so must drive.

The idea is actually old one. For example, the Newton-Rhapson method of finding roots involves making an initial guess, then iterating an algorithm to improve the guess. Apparently even the Babylonians used similar techniques for square roots: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%...

And one from 1964: Rapoport, A. (1964). Estimation of Continuous Subjective Probability Distributions in a Sequential Decision Task. Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 6(5), 433-444.

For justification of the assumption that the
SPD is a beta distribution, when the data
generating process is a Bernoullian, see
Rapoport (1964), for the specific example con-
sidered here.

This is the oldest I can find in Google Scholar: Hurst, E. G. (1968). Bayesian autoregressive time series analysis. IEEE Transactions on Systems Science and Cybernetics, 4(3), 317-324.

D
(Xt|Zt-1Epsilon).We will refer to this distribution as our prior for period
t. Because of the data generating process, the Z,_1 repre-
sent direct data on the X11, and we have used this
with our knowledge of the autoregressive process given in
(1.) to predict 3⁄4t. We now observe the datum zt, and wish
to infer kt in order to predict 3⁄4±+, and thus obtain
the prior distribution for period t + 1
D
(Xt+llZtg).
