We have been working to turn our yard into a pollinator paradise. I noticed that our parsley is filled with black swallowtail larvae. I am both happy and grossed out!

Parsley filled with black swallowtail larvae. The colors of the larvae change as they mature so some are black, yellow and white and some are more green/yellow/black.

Trying to decide if being welcomed by name by the owner of the nursery is a good thing or a sign I go too often? She also knew what new plants had come in since my last visit. My Backyard by Nectars in Titusville NJ is awesome, especially if you are into native plants.

Cold season has arrived so I bought Sassafras new jammies, hoping she would not need to crawl under the covers. Woke up shivering with her naked and rolled up in my blanket.
