I just noted I do have a personal Bluesky account. I just didn’t log in for over half a year. 😆

Not playing modern videogames, but Im curious: Are big-world games (like CRPGs) based on a round or a flat Earth? I.e. Is line of sight restricted by a horizon or by "fog"?

When you are the only one joining a group raid in Pokémon Go, terribly defeated by an enormous monster with no other trainers at your defense, you are either 7 years late (like my coworker suggests) or the only one playing Pokémon Go in your 1100-people-village. Does that sound familiar to you?

For all the new ones on Bluesky, @darkpact.bsky.social @joedizzy.bsky.social etc, check your settings and turn the “show reply” switch off. Otherwise you’ll only see discussions with comments that have at least 2 likes. Which makes it hard for new people to be seen and to engage.

Wohoo, it’s invite code time. 2 more shared, hoping to grow the community with interesting voices.

The Zenobia Award competition/mentoring program opens again on Oct 1. Pls help pass the word to: ➡️people from underrepresented groups, who have designed ➡️unpublished boardgames about human history. I'm not directly involved but I ❤️ efforts to diversify the pool of designers & topics for games! 🎲✂️

Ok, so I browsed old Tweets and realized that quite a few of the publishing companies that we have worked with in the past ceased to exist. Pretty much as many as new companies were founded in the same time. It’s constant come and go in our business.

Does anyone remember the card game Entropy by Rule & Make? Does anyone remember Rule & Make who have ceased to exist? Entropy was a fun push your luck / deduction game in the style of Get Bit. The Kickstarter version came with a mini book / novella. I just read that. Like an artifact from old times.

Mini book with the novella “Entropy” in it that came with the card game Entropy.

First looking the final MPC of Mythwind. Photos by Lance of Open Owl Games, taken from Instagram. See the player tableau for the farmer character with its polyomino mechanic and the box with the neat and quick store system that allows you to quickly set up, put back and save the game.

Oops, I wanted to post that in English, thought I was on Mastodon and didn’t notice it was Bluesky. 😆 So yeah, has anyone ever or is anyone (still?) playing Pokémon TCG? I am relatively new to it. Played it a few times and liked it. I am not deep into buying cards though.

What are your thoughts on Hive Social? I just opened it again after month and realized that most of the content is comment spamming (crypto currency, porn etc.). So it’s dead, right? And how will BlueSky avoid that once it’s no longer invite-only?

Ok, let’s do an introductory post: We are Board Game Circus, a publishing house and translation studio (multiple languages!) from Germany. We publish and sell games in the German-speaking area. Our original games are localized by e. g. 25th Century Games in the US and GaminBIZ in the Netherlands. 1/

I am on holidays and I forgot to bring at least 1 solo game. 🙈 The only game playable solo is the wonderful cooperative kids game Kraken Attack. If you have kids between 6–10, I highly recommend it. I personally enjoy every play of it. BGG: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/293309/…

Looks like Bluesky can handle account switching. As soon as I have an invite I’ll invite my myself for a second account over here, for Board Game Circus. 😂 It’s been almost a year with Mastodon by now and we have 342 followers over there.

Driving by the Tesla „Gigafactory“ in Brandenburg. Is that what they call it? Looks like a vintage rural area airport with more moss than planes in it.

Who is going to #SPIEL23 in Essen? Who visited #BerlinCon in #Berlin or plans to go next year? Who was at #GenCon? Who loves #Boardgamegeek? (I just need some board game related hashtags to fill my cloud with other board gamers)
