Yeah, I've updated my statements to say that it needs to be licensed in a way that's compatible with inspection. Preferable just something similar to copyleft. Governments make intellectual property work, they have everything they need to compel hosts.

I've been thinking a lot about recommendations and discovery ('the algorithm", "search", resp.), esp in light of the 230 debate. Imagine decentralized content hosting coming back, but having recommendation and search being 100% decoupled from the content hosts. Bonus if the impls are open source.

I didn't use the term "echo chamber" bc it's too loaded. Creating closed loops in the viewer graph is as direct as I can describe the technique. Btw, bsky could be using this technique and we might not notice. X also uses it, which is another reason the shut off research access to apis.

Btw, if you're affect by the bug where you can't post, the button is in the DOM, just invisible. The `aria-label` is "New Post", which looks like the most reliable way to search for it (they don't believe in html ids, lol). You may be able to find it if you resize, as well.

So, one age that tended towards a multiplicity of approaches for build and dependencies, and another with cheap networking that tended towards one agreed-upon solution. Haskell never had a blessed build and dependency distribution solution. It was my greatest roadblock, at least.

So anyway, my take is that Haskell landed between two software epochs: the C et al ecosystem, which had no central authority, two entirely different methods of distributing reused code, and many build systems; and then the web ecosystem, with tools built for that age, which tended toward singular.

I don't feel great about #rustlang requirements in #debian. The Rust Foundation/Community would then be in the position of determining which devices can use Debians and offspring. It would be one thing if the support matrix matched Debian's, but it doesn't; so strictly, it reduces the # of platform
