Day 12 of our #Rivian R1S roadtrip, we crossed 2,750 miles with 266 miles of driving from Halifax, NS to Saint John, NB. Unfortunately our trip is almost over and we head back to the US next. We had avg 2.1 miles/kWh due to mostly highway driving in temperatures up to 100 F! #EVRoadtrip #EV

Fantastic charging on our #Rivian R1S at Electrify Canada in Saint John! 17-77% in 34 minutes and we hit a record at 222 kW (I’ve never seen more than 217). 52.62 after driving 86 miles with horrible efficiency of 1.97 mi/kWh though it was nearly 100 F.

The first major charge fail of our roadtrip, after two weeks and 2,600 miles without issue. Chargers in Moncton are 1/2 offline and half taken (and very slow). At least I got to see a Kia EV4 in the flesh. It looks quite nice inside and a great affordable electric sedan. Too bad US might not get it

Day 11 of our huge #Rivian roadtrip through Canada and while we didn’t drive at all today, we celebrated Canada day in the best possible way around Halifax. Tomorrow we leave Nova Scotia and head back into New Brunswick, ending in Saint John after driving the Fundy Parkway (and moose?) again.

Today we maximized strategically located level 2 chargers along our route from east to west Nova Scotia and didn’t have to fast charge at all from Lunenburg to Mahone Bay to Kejimkukik National Park to Digby. We even drove off road a bit in the National Park and got to see the Bluenose II set sail.

What a dream of a day! Cape Breton is even better than I imagined. We took the ferry from PEI then drove 250 miles up the Cabot Trail. We hiked Egypt Falls and saw a moose in the fog at the top of Skyline Trail after a local seafood dinner accompanied by a live band.

1st leg - 240 miles NJ to VT in the books! We made it to Ludlow and Off the Rails, our favorite pizza spot in Ludlow. No problem with range, we have 20% to spare and had pretty good efficiency of 2.4 miles / kWh on the drive.

We are not far off from the BMW iX3 shipping to US customers and I just got an invite to test drive it on an auto cross course and on the road here in NJ in July. BMW puts on amazing driving events and this will be our biggest since our Z4 performance center delivery years ago. I am stoked!

I completed my Rivian R2 Demo drive and it made an incredibly good first impression. It drives beautifully, exceptional dynamics and even without air suspension the ride feel is planted and comfortable even over NYC potholes. It’s zippy, very easy to position between traffic. #Rivian #R2
