We must end all U.S. aid to Israel until it has proven itself a government that can co-exist with its neighbors in the Middle East and aim for peace instead of power. My full statement on the third anniversary of October 7th:

Three years ago today, Hamas carried out an unforgettable and unforgivable terrorist attack in Israel that left over 1,200 people (civilians and soldiers) dead, and 251 held hostage.

It is a tragedy we must never forget. We must also understand the context of the days before and the tens of thousands of deaths that have followed.

Multiple outlets - both U.S. and international - have confirmed that the Israeli government had warnings October 7th was coming in advance. Some reports claim they had weeks to prevent this kind of attack and defend themselves.

Every country has a right to defend itself. They do not have a right to do so with our tax dollars. They do not have a right to kill thousands of women and children and call it self-defense.

Approximately 6,000 Palestinians entered Israel on October 7th, about two thirds were suspected members of Hamas. Over 74,000 Palestinians have been killed since. Homes, schools, hospitals, businesses, and basic utilities across the Gaza Strip are decimated while Israel stands strong.

There’s still more death and destruction to come.

This week, Israel announced that they've annihilated around 4,000 of those 6,000 invaders. That means the vast majority of the men, women, and children killed in Gaza these past three years were not responsible for the attack.

And on the opposite side, less than 1,000 Israeli citizens and service members have died since October 8, 2023.

It goes without saying that the more than 64,000 kids who've been murdered or injured in Israel’s genocide were not terrorists.

Shooting and bombing tens of thousands of civilians, some of them in bread lines, is not self-defense. Pointing civilians to “evacuation zones” then killing them when they arrive, is not self-defense.

I want to make clear that I believe antisemitism is a real problem the Jewish people face globally. Violence and discrimination against any group of people for existing is unacceptable, period.

But it is not antisemitic to criticize the actions of the Israeli government.

I do not blame the Jewish people for Israel murdering 35x more people than Hamas has in these three years.

I do not blame the Jewish people for Israel extending their attacks into Yemen and Lebanon.

I blame the Israeli government, and I blame our own government for aiding and abetting Israel's crimes.

The attack on October 7, 2023, will always be remembered. Most of those accused of committing it are dead, as are approximately 74,000 other Gazans. Doctors. Nurses. Teachers. Journalists. Aid workers. Parents, grandparents, sons, and daughters.

I hope we'll remember them, too, and never again let our own country have so much blood on its hands.

We can start by ending all U.S. aid to Israel until it has proven itself a government that can co-exist with its neighbors in the Middle East and aim for peace instead of power.

Alongside that, we must enforce a permanent ceasefire, provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, and ban ALL foreign lobbying groups like AIPAC. No foreign nation should have financial influence over our government or politicians like my opponent.
