As soon as men can access a space, I’m treated like my experience couldn’t possibly be true and if I don’t capitulate, they work themselves up to direct insults. Always.

I can’t get this across to people I work with, and wonder how much more plain I can make it. If something is important, schedule a meeting. If you don’t, I won’t remember anything you ask me to do, I won’t be able to answer your questions, and I’ll forget to do what you interrupted me doing.

When fighting for your rights, it’s important to know what they actually are. Toilet access in schools for example. If it were your human right to go whenever you like, the teacher would have the same right. So during a dangerous practical, or even if you’re alone in the room with your bully.

I love gaming. But why do so many “gamers” advocate so strongly for forcing others to not just play competitively, but in the way they think is acceptable to compete? e.g. #elitedangerous open only powerplay and CG advocates. Just compete in hauling rather than insist you get to blow others up.

Got an email from the head of attendance, copying in my line manager, berating me for not giving 10 merits per lesson. We were never told it was compulsory. I had less than 10 students in class that day. Some had misbehaved.

PGCE students, ECTs etc. do not go to teaching subreddits for teaching advice. Most advice I see there goes against the SEN code of practice, the equality act and the teaching standards. The advice may help you survive in the short termas a teacher, but it won’t help you thrive.

About a year ago a child was brought up in a meeting. Their attendance was decreasing. I (as SENCO) asked some SEN questions. Was told “no, we don’t need you. This is an attendance issue.” Her attendance went down. I eventually was allowed to get involved. Child now has an EHCP.

American teachers obviously back at work as my Reddit feed is full of low/no empathy nonsense, lack of accountability, parent blaming and not one example of a teacher looking at a child’s barriers in anything other than a “punish them to get past it” way. “I’ve tried everything!” but really nothing.

The "gender critical" movement are not appealing their loss in their fight to stop the puberty blocker trial. The "irreversible harm" James is talking about here is people being trans. That's it. Helen Joyce said it clearly, even if trans people say they are happy they consider them to be "harmed."

Puberty Blockers Trial Update

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that we will not be appealing in our failed judicial review to stop the puberty blockers trial.

We looked at every possible angle for appeal but do not believe the merits are there, given how extremely high thresholds involved.

Make no mistake, the High Court judgment does not negate the irreversible harm that will be caused to children who take part in this trial.

Thank you to everyone who supported us during this campaign and I’m sorry to not bring better news.

I will continue to do whatever I can to stop this trial taking place and will be working with colleagues on alternative strategies over the coming weeks.
