Before I reach for the diaper’s tapes, I’ll usually ask the kid “How bad is it?” Having changed his bottom many, many times now and comparing his estimations to the reality of the situation, I’m not convinced he has any more of a clue of what’s going on back there than I do.

The kid has weird priorities when it comes to being shy. He’ll happily poop his diapers right in front of me and couldn’t care less about being changed. But I learned pretty quickly it’s better to pretend I don’t notice when he’s trying to take selfies of his loaded seat.
