Francis, and now Leo are the 1st two Popes from the Americas. They bring a very different dynamic than the European (i.e. the Italian) Popes before them. Francis was already a “new” kind of Pope in his modern ideas, while keeping to core teachings of Christ. I happily expect Leo will be too.
