you know a song is good when

the progress bar in a music player (specifically fooyin), showing the song's waveform. it's pretty much at the max the entire way through.

missed terrible comic day but oh well

rough comic.

1.
A title card of sorts. It's Dan the ice cream man! Dan stands with a blank expression.

2.
Dan is standing behind his ice cream stand. An onlooker looks towards him, pondering.

3.
The onlooker says to themselves, "I wonder if he masturbates."

4.
The onlooker approaches Dan. The onlooker says, "Hi Dan. I have a question for you."

what you mean leisure dot com

a screenshot of duckduckgo. it's a side panel showing info for "Leisure". as usual, it just shows the definition from wikipedia, but for some reason has the link "leisure.com" at the top.

I also love niche UI and gadgets, and I get to explore that a bit more doing this. for instance I've been looking up old PDAs and gosh,

a Sony CLIÉ PEG-NZ90. at first glance, it looks like a flip-phone. however, it's a fully-fledged PDA running palmos. it has a full QWERTY keyboard, a color screen, and is a bit chonky. the UI is a bit dense.

if it's meant to be used when the reply count is disabled, I wonder if the dots could be outside of the icon instead? I did something similar on twitter back in the day, and I felt it had more breathing room to work with

Twitter screenshot. It's the reply, repost, and like button, but instead of showing the actual numbers, it's just a dot.

an image on flicker: "046 by Maan (Manuel van der Graaf)". it's a painting a cute smiling gator holding an umbrella.

working on a design for a pebble round 2 watch face ... thinking hourly weather and a calendar would be neat (second pic are some earlier versions, and feedback is very much welcome . . .)

a mock-up of a pebble round 2 watch face. it uses black on white text, and has a green accent. from top to bottom, it shows the date, time, 5-hourly weather, a 3-week calendar, and the sunset/sunrise time.

the hourly weather shows the temperature and condition, as well as precipitation via a bar graph in the background.

the 3-week calendar is just a simple calendar, only showing the dates.

various other older mockups. they vary in color and layout, but mostly all of them include a calendar and the hourly weather.

he's simple and green

two simple vector drawings.

first is a side head of a black creature of sorts, with a long snout and a big eye. they're looking forwards.

second is the same head, but now they're green with a lighter underbelly. they're looking back left.

raptor doodles, in color! woaw

digital sketches. head of a blue raptor with blue eyes. head of a black raptor with orange eyes. head of a green raptor with roughly defined feathers going "Arghrhh". and a random head of a lizard with some high up eyebrows and a slim face.

these are some big numbers and I feel a bit weird ... that's a lot

the bubble chart showing people I've interacted with the most in 2025 in a list view.

@herbkuffer.bsky.social: 1 mention + 8 replies + 208 likes + 1 repost = 218 interactions

@in.terl.ink: 8 replies + 162 likes + 3 reposts = 173 interactions

@texumin.bsky.social: 3 replies + 96 likes + 1 repost = 100 interactions

@iack.bsky.social: 96 likes = 96 interactions

I've always been pretty stumped by its apparently popularity. it just, kinda ticked up in downloads randomly without an increase in views. looking up "scroll for worldedit" online returns nothing to indicate why. there's been almost no comments on curse forge, and no activity on GitHub.

modrinth analytics page. downloads have been flat, but suddenly shoot up, maintaining that rate for the rest of time.

views spiked for a bit but then flatline. the spike is notably before the shoot up in downloads

experimenting with a website redesign

screenshot of a website made with astro.build. it's dark and green. along the top are a bunch of white squares in a wavy line. below is a green and shiny heading just saying "dabric".

below the heading are a bunch of various links to my socials and the various parts of my website. the links are in boxes, and most of the boxes have a subtle shine at the top.

i don't like how it's vaguely live... i don't know how live, but you could possibly use it to see if someone's out of country

screenshot of an explainer pop-up in twitter.

some playing around

various simple black-on-white digital drawings. from left to right, top to bottom:

a multibot (robot with a rectangular head, a screen on the front, and two ear-like squares extruding from the sides) with a cute expression. somewhat :3 like.

an anthro square dino head. they're just looking forward.

another dino head. the proportions are exaggerated, making it look very angular.

another multibot with a similar expression. they're saying "pleh."

full body anthro dino guy. they're laying on their back. the proportions are a bit exaggerated and the lines aren't precise. kinda stylized in a way.

a simple dragon head.

on real hardware the most I could do was just get it to say "cards". it doesn't change at all when I interact with it. still cool tho!

photo of an actual playdate in the launcher's menu. the "view as" option's name is instead erroneously "cards"

010

teran @dabric.xyz · 06/11/2025

an amusing bug i found in the playdate simulator if you lock it while opening the menu

160

teran @dabric.xyz · 30/10/2025

that's just my broad experience. web apps tend to be slow for me in general. however, what I interpreted as it chugging seems to actually be a visual bug. when you switch between the cards, it'll animate off-screen, but it extends the viewport and makes the fixed UI elements visually disappear

quick and dirty change to bluesky's social-app, and yeah it largely seems trivial. the already existing show more button nicely works here :> github.com/hf02/social-...
