I will always give this ad a share when it shows up. Before watching it: imagine being an Irish kid, who has barely watched any anime. You switch on TV one evening, and *this* shows up on your TV. It blows your goddamned mind, and is seared into it forever. The Celtic Tiger was a strange time.

Wisconsin has amazing cheese, lots of beer, and fireworks. It is a dangerous yet lovely combination that I can’t recommend enough.

I especially like these drawings of Kraków (Cracow), they clearly show how medieval cities started to become overcrowded, how gardens and yards, space for waste, toilets, gardens, etc. became sparser, which in turn led to hygiene problems later. 13th & 14th century:
