I don’t think Sony knows what a reasonable consumer thinks. Does Sony believe I think that because my father bought a Ghostbusters VHS that my family owned the only copy of the Ghostbusters movie? Because no one ever thought that.

Now, as reported by Game File, Sony recently filed its response to the lawsuit, claiming that customers are not only told “your purchase of this digital product amounts to a licence”, but that “reasonable consumers” already understand this anyway without having to be told.

Sony’s argument is that because digital copies of games are not a finite resource, and that because multiple people can buy a digital copy of the same game, that means nobody actually ‘owns’ it – if they did, nobody else would be able to have it.

I’m sympathetic to this, but also, as someone who has photo-bashed for concept, there are a lot of decisions in this image that make no sense to me, even from a photo-bashing perspective.

SUPERGIRL and BRAND NEW DAY have been running into problems with people spotting AI in their visual development assets. BRAND NEW DAY at least looks like poor content-aware fill, not generative AI, but if it is, it’s bad content-aware-fill with a vertical taxi smudge in the center.

I very much like this pivot in tone and visuals for Spider-Man. This one finally feels like a movie about Peter living in Marvel’s New York in a way the other Spider Movies haven’t been able to. Would love if this was Spider-Man’s non-Avengers gear for the foreseeable future.
