I’m a furry! A real cat boy. Everything I post should be SFW. I can’t say the same for what I like or repost. Be warned. Avatar by @draconicatt.bsky.social

Mmhmm yep. I figured the Pocketbook e-reader browser wouldn’t be on the supported browsers list but passing all tests and turnstile still fails? Feels like I missed it by that much 🤏

Oh no! @archiveofourown.org doesn’t like my ereader :( Thanks @cloudflare.social (Yeah, lack of JS support will do that these days, but it’d be nice if there was a way to log in on another device and attest that you are human based on your older device’s Ray ID or some such)

I lost my streak on 4x3 (forgot to play yesterday) so there wasn’t much harm in being a rule breaker today XD (it did take me a couple shots to figure it out!) www.hankgreen.com/fourbythree

Ah yes! More excellent SCIENCE!! news that gives me hope! Gotta be my favorite way to get news! A very close second is the Destiel confession meme, which is how I learned the results of the NYC mayoral election and of the Georgia PSC special election.

Top: Castiel saying “I love you” with the caption “I love you”

Bottom: Dean taking this in with room for a caption. This section is usually used for breaking news - at least on Tumblr.

and like, I hate a browser monoculture, and I could use one of the Firefox forks (that don't get security updates and bug fixes as quickly and are not as well-funded and are not as widely used) and I might keep one installed for comparison's sake, but I guess Sponge Bob really was right...

This is why I use a web browser - to discover, not to have some robot regurgitate slop into my eyeballs! vivaldi.com/for-a-better...

Built on Human Intelligence

We don’t buy into the idea that everything needs to be powered by AI. Especially not the kind that uses your data without permission, or plagiarizes and pollutes the web with misinformation. So, unlike other browsers, we don’t include an artificial assistant to browse the web for you. We choose humans over hype, and we will not turn the joy of exploring into passive spectatorship. Because without exploration, the web becomes far less interesting.

What password managers are we recommending these days? Preferably password managers that aren't integrating or partnering with AI companies... One would think AI would be radioactive for password manager and security companies. I guess one would be wrong :(

@mozilla.org and @mozilla.ai want to make AI more trust-worthy? OK... Step 1: STOP SHOVING IT DOWN OUR DAMN THROATS IF WE DON'T WANT IT! Step 2: MAKE IT EASILY DISABLE-ABLE IN FIREFOX

Which is funny because when I search all the pages of their "Privacy & Terms" site, there are exactly 0 mentions for the following terms: LGBT LGBTQ Lesbian Gay and in fact prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender

For the Amazon app on iPhone, it copies a short URL that has all the tracking embedded in the short code. I use this shortcut that expands the link and deletes all the garbage after the `?` and then puts the newly cleaned link on your clipboard. www.icloud.com/shortcuts/e7...
Screenshot of Amazon's Share Link with the More button circledScreenshot of Amazon Link Fixinator shortcut. The workflow receies URLs and Apps input from Share Sheet, expands Shortcut Input using the link expander function, splits the expanded URL by custom character '?', gets the first item from the split text, and copies item from list to the clipboard.

I would like to amend my thoughts... Distributing an installer app in a zip file that installs the real app is nothing terrible. If you distribute your app in a way that makes users follow this flow chart? Straight to hell.

Actual things people have said to me about my voice while I'm providing them IT support...
Two-panel comic depicting a woman in a cubicle.

The first panel depicts a conventionally attractive man with the speech bubble altered to read "Your voice is so calming it's like a balm when someone's in a panic". The woman reacts "Aww, you're sweet"

The second panel depicts a conventionally unattractive man with the speech bubble altered to read "You have a nice bedroomy voice". The woman reacts by picking up the phone and saying "Hello, Human Resources?!"

Yoooo is Telo still planning on releasing a truck in the US? Because if they are, that'd be a pretty lit lil thing. My girlfriend even said she'd learn to drive in Atlanta if she could get one! They're a bit larger than a Kei Truck but still right about that perfect lil' size~
Translucent Mini Cooper 2-door in front of a Telo truck showing that the vehicles are the same length and that the truck is only slightly taller than the Mini CooperTelo truck with its tailgate lined up to what appears to be a Toyota truck, showing the Telo's similar bed height but much shorter wheelbase and overall length.

I love security researchers. I love people who design security tools that make analyzing weird PDFs and other files easier. I love that I have access to these tools - often for free. But then they go and make app icons like this... I don't need to have Adobe Acrobat Goatse on my work computer
