It's really weird to that these "leaders" are attracted to dystopian fiction, but always seem to get confused as to who the good guy is. I'd love to know what logic path gets you to Sauron, the WOPR, and SkyNet somehow being the things that society should emulate...

Not sure. I have ISBNs, and some book sellers have the updated cover imagery. Amazon just redirects to the first edition. And Syngress (Elsevier) only lists the old one.

I've had problems finding the 2ed of a book that was supposedly published in 2025 (first ed was 2016). No one seems to have it, not even the publisher. Our ILL was unable to locate the book at any consortium institution. I also reached out to the author directly. Haven't heard back yet.

I'm teaching a Masters class in Network Forensics and Live IR. The new classroom has been under construction for a bit. A long-time friend who works for the labs was able to take me there to see how it turned out. I'm both nervous and excited about this semester (starts Monday)

5 modular racks containing various network equipment (routers, switches, and patch panels) and servers for network simulation.

The only thing slower than watching grass grow: sitting in line at the local inspection place for only an emissions check. Safety passed in April. I usually go to my regular repair shop for this, but they were too busy with regular repairs (a good problem to have, btw) and couldn't squeeze me in.

We have Starship on our campus (one of the earliest adopters). There was a great Yik-Yak of one stopping at a 2 foot cement ledge, hesitating for a bit, then driving straight off it full speed. All set to the Sarah Mclaghlan tear-jerker "Angel".
