Today Senator Blackburn is expected to try ramming KOSA--the Kids Online Safety Act--through the Senate via unanimous consent. KOSA was an Internet censorship bill in its inception, and in 4 years the only thing its authors have done is try to disguise KOSA's nature rather than fix it.

there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.

In 2024, I've been hearing that KOSA was going to be attached into a must pass bill, but I called, and it failed. Now, this year, I've been hearing that the misleading Stop CSAM Act was attached to the NDAA, and I heard that it might get removed soon. But we need to act right now if we need to win.
