Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 01/02/2026I am leaving social media for the foreseeable future. Friends on #MetsSky and #TarotSky - I will miss you dearly. Be well. 16170
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 30/01/2026Let's read the cards We have made some reckless, stupid choices which have put us as a crossroad. We think we can balance everything and get through it, but that way lies disaster. It's hard to see the silver linings today. #Tarot #TarotSky 050
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 27/01/2026Is the last big remaining question in the #MLB offseason of who takes a chance at the solid talent and questonable attitude that is Framber Valdez? As much as we could use his arm, I don't see the #Mets going this rout, unless the price is VERY cheap/short term. Maybe not even then. 110
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 27/01/2026It's McCarthyism. They're trying to re-invent the blacklist. Only stupider McCarthy was able to weaponize our real feer of the Soviet Union. What Homan doesn't seem to realize is that most of us are more afraid of ICE than the immigrants he's trying to demonize. This list would be a badge of honpr 071
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 27/01/2026Alison Green runs a workplace advice column called Ask a Manager. That she's talking about this is one of many, many signs that we're not in normal times. Thank you Alison for adding your voice here. Anyone else with a platform has better be using it. Now is the time. 020
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 27/01/2026Not my mayor in law (I live on Long Island) but all of our mayor in spirit. On this he could not possibly be more correct. 030
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 27/01/2026there's supposed to be #juggling at lunchtime. Where is the juggling? 110
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 27/01/2026At present the "two sides" are those who believe in dignity for all people on one side and literal Nazis on the other. "Both sides" is a kind of brainworm. I don't need to listen to fascist propaganda. 000
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 27/01/2026Let's read the cards We've been open, eager, willing to leap forward and grasp at and fantasies. Sometimes we're lost enough that we'd grasp for anything, but that's not all bad - we can be waking up, perhaps seeing past illusions, past what is to what can be. #Tarot #TarotSky 130
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 26/01/2026This is well-said, but where are all of the current MLB players? Where is Lindor - a man who has spoken out in support of gay rights - of the #Mets in this moment, while his wife speaks? Where is Tony Clark, director of the MLBPA? Where is the chorus of voices we should be hearing on this? 5183
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 26/01/2026Let's read the cards We've been struggling a lot lately, but we can handle it. We might have gotten far enough to start a new, concrete project - there's excitement here. Being able to pursue dreams has always been what we wanted, and in this moment the future again seems bright #Tarot #TarotSky 020
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 25/01/2026The NBA players association has spoken. This is not a time for neutrality - everyone with a voice should be using it, everyone with a platform should speak. ICE is evil. The Trump administration is evil This is fascism, and we need as many voices as we can opposing it. Good for them. 010
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 25/01/2026Let's read the cards We're stable enough to support ourselves and others, even if it may not feel like it. Now it's the time to put that energy towards the hard work - honing our skills, learning. With work we'll be able to do more - to be the inspiration the world needs #Tarot #TarotSky 1121
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 25/01/2026This. There are times for cleverness and irreverence. This is not one of those times, this is not one of those topics. Anyone who knows me knows that I love wordplay, but not like this. 020
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 24/01/2026Another murder by the American gestapo. I wish I believed that the architects of this descent into fascism would face justice. Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 24/01/2026Let's read the cards Regardless of how bad the world is, we've had joy and success that has brought is here. We're stable, we can lead and help. It's the time to remember our beliefs, remember our traditions, remember who we are. We can be a bulwark against the coming madness #Tarot #TarotSky 110
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 23/01/2026This is an unpopular opinion, but LLMs are a useful tool for some things; I had a professional use for ChatGPT last week fixing code on an internal tool. "Be your therapist/friend/lover" is NOT a good use for it, nor is "write a thank you note", "make art" or "sexualize women against their will" 100
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 23/01/2026Let's read the cards We've stalled a bit, leaving our focus on holding on to what we have. We're not feeling generous, not feeling adventurous, but are feeling stable. Stability can't last forever - there exist new ideas within us, and new adventures await, when we're ready #Tarot #TarotSky 051
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026One could argue - and I would agree - that the act of literally eating an AI "art" exhibit is more a work of art than the actual AI art ingested. 043
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026On the positive side it makes them more effective at heating. You're not getting any warmer than "literally on fire" 010
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026This is not only profoundly, deeply unethical, it's not even controlled enough to get useful data; it's cruelty and eugenics masked as medical "research" 042
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026During my annual physical, my primary doctor has asked me if I have a gun in the house and if I have a fire extinguisher. The former isn't enough to label her as a lefty, but at least she's not a foaming-at-the-mouth right-wing zealot. So there's that. 000
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026Let's read the cards Remembering the joys of the past might be the only thing keeping our heads above water now; we feel empty, abandoned, cold - that we don't have enough to give. There are choices ahead, but they all feel bad. It might be time to step back; this is not our day #Tarot #TarotSky 150
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026We need a strog, clear voice in opposition to Trump. We do NOT need the opposition voice to be that of a bigot, making gay innuendos, attacking trans people, and gleefully tearing apart homeless encampments. In addition to everything else, consider this a Gavin Newsome hate account 092
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026This was an absolutely beautiful movie. If you've not seen it you're cheating yourself out of something special. 000
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 22/01/2026thoughts: 1) One use of chips is to cash them in; prospects gave you value if you can flip them for a star b) We'll not know the final answer until the dust clears, years from now. Remember the mid-season trade for Javier Baez? Kelenic for Diaz and Cano? iii) The #Mets are more worth watching now 220

Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026All this. DS9 was brilliant, but I agree - the lighter "filler" episodes gave us not only much-needed levity but also helped flesh out the characters with more depth. For a classic example, remember that in the middle of the existential threat of the Dominion War we had time for a baseball game 271
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026It's the gestapo. That's all ICE is; they see themselves as beholden to no authority save the President and his cronies. Few things are more antithetical to rule of law and a liberal democracy than the existence of an unconstrained goon squad. 062
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026Let's read the cards We're steady, turning to our beliefs and traditions in the face of upheaval. We want things to be as they've been, but more than that want to maintain our foundation So much is changed, even lost, but the base remains. we still are who we are That's enough #Tarot #TarotSky 080
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026In case anyone hasn't realized that "low IQ" is always a racist dog whistle, I present to you the President of the United States. Over recent years I've tried very hard to excise "smart" from my lexicon; I'll say "educated", "intellectually curious" or similar. 193
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026I was being impish here, but Mo Vaughn does have one bit of trivia with the #Mets - he was the last player on the team to wear uniform number 42 before it retired across MLB in tribute to Jackie Robinson. The big 42 in Citifield, years ago; that girl is a second year college student. 020
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026I guarantee that we in NYC barely noticed this idiot. At best he gets an eyeroll. That's a small return on a 10K mile flight. And yes, that's how mayors work; he's only yours if you live in his city. He isn't *my* mayor and I only have to take a 35 mile train ride to get to NYC. 010
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026I go to bed, wake up and see that the #Mets traded Acuna for Luis Robert, Jr? I've never been on the Robert hype train; he's been mediocre at the dish for two seasons in a row now. Yes, he's athletic and yes, he's a solid - borderline elite - defender. Acuna is also an athletic solid defender 120
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 21/01/2026"attractiveness" discourse can be reductive, but do you know the first thing I found attractive about my spouse, Dr Suskin? Her intellect. Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 20/01/2026Let's read the cards Time for opportunities to come to fruition; it's time to act, to take control of the things we're thinking about and that we want When we move forward like this it's easy to lose control, to end up riding the tiger Let's stay strong, keep our feet beneath us #Tarot #TarotSky 030

Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 18/01/2026Let's read the cards No surprise I'm late with this one today - despite an inner wellspring of potent we can't seem to chokse a direction in which to get moving. On fact, every seems a bit empty, underwhelming. Life is happening, but we have a hard time making ourselves care #tarot #TarotSky 040
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 17/01/2026Let's read the cards We're worried about those next steps, aren't we? Well, why wouldn't we be with the world the way it is? If we can quiet the screaming in our heads we'll realize that we have everything we need within us. It just takes a gentle hand. #Tarot #TarotSky 091
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 16/01/2026Let's read the cards After connecting and putting everything together we need to step back. To be alone, to be. It is not time for doing. Apart from everything and everyone we can rest, we can refresh, we can turn inward. Then when the time comes to move we'll be ready. #Tarot #TarotSky 190
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 16/01/2026Now that the #Mets signed their big bat, can we please get one starting pitcher who can give quality innings? Framber Valdez is still out there if we have some of that money from the Kyle Tucker offer leftover. 050
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 15/01/2026Looks like the #Mets didn't get a Paul Blackburn reunion. At least that's good news 150

Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 15/01/2026Let's read the cards We have to choose. Between accepting and giving, receiving and taking. We're ready to move from focus on our needs to others - to be protective and stable. Let's make the choice to give people reason to count on us #Tarot #TarotSky 050
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 14/01/2026Let's read the cards We've been scrapping, we've been running into conflict instead of turning away from it. That's pushing things to the point they break Things will change, and dramatically, and we need to accept that. We've lost something, but not everything. Have faith #Tarot #TarotSky 0121
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 13/01/2026Let's read the cards Time to get going - we've been planning, weighing options, but we're done with that. Now we're ready to just go - no more thinking, no weighing The work we've done isn't in vain; even if we step forth blindly we have enough foundation that we'll be successful #Tarot #TarotSky 140
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 12/01/2026Let's read the cards We've taken time to reflect, and that's built us up; we feel on top of the world now. Sharp, ready to rule the world. Maybe too in control - when we stepped back to recharge we also stepped away, and being in charge can be lonely. Let's not lose ourselves #Tarot #TarotSky 050
Leonard C Suskin (he/him) @czhorat.bsky.social · 11/01/2026Did I want the #Mets to throw a ton of money and years at Bregman? No, but another impact bat is off the board.
