Sometimes I see posts where I 'get it', I can objectively understand why people are so affected, I can see all the details they're seeing (I think), but it does literally nothing for me. It's kind of validating, like "wow I truly am aro if even someone this objectively attractive doesn't move me."

There's a difference between believing conspiracy theories vs. assessing probabilities based on observable facts and patterns. That line can be difficult for some people to manage, but unfortunately we do live in a world where powerful people are doing terrible things, and systems are enabling them.

If you're being observant and have decent pattern recognition this kind of stuff gets predictable after a while, but it was driving me crazy how many intelligent people in my life dismissed this kind of thing as 'conspiracy theory' and continued trusting some vague fiction about 'regulation'.
