Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Hm. We used to go out to cabins in Walhalla on 10. Don’t recall the Scott Rock but that was 30 years ago. I do remember Scottville, the Clown Town. 010

Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 06/10/2026My library (in the US) has Help the Witch. It's checked out and has one hold. 020
Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 06/10/2026People in the UK and Ireland seem to love old Motown soul and R&B. Heard it a lot when we lived in England in the late 80s, plus there was a whole move about it in the 90s.tv.apple.comThe Commitments - Apple TVFunny, musical and occasionally dramatic, this is the story of tumultuous rise and fall of a Dublin Soul band, The Commitments. Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Nosy question: Were these records around the house? Were you spending your allowance on records? I am always curious how people 10-15 years younger than I am have so many overlapping musical touchstones. 011
Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Stopped at a rest area in Ohio on the way home and this cracked me up. #goblue 030

Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I neglected to post the bouquet of the week! I bought it at the farmers’ market on Saturday and it’s still looking perky. 020
Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 30/09/2026It's quite loud -- I had already closed the windows because it was getting chilly. 000
Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Aha! That is why you were looking for interesting content in a bland cover! The downside of the flipbook is that the VAST majority of the books research libraries have digitized are walls of text, so you wouldn't often find something too interesting while flipping. 111

Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 28/09/2026My BFF, who is a marketing professor, says it is "brand differentiation" when my kids (now adults) are like this, as in "Ew no, they can't be like each other!" I know she's joking but as they have gotten older, they are getting more similar in what they like so maybe she was actually correct. 130
Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 28/09/2026GE thought of it in 1928 when they put out their refrigerator brochure -- have your fruit cocktails ready to go in the fridge so you can impress your post-theater guests with your modernity as you serve them snacks! 010
Chris @cynicalgrrl.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Ann Arbor PTO Resale shop on S. Industrial has yarn but you would probably end up with a Garment of many colors because that is indeed A LOT of yarn. My mom knitted me an afghan and she said the heft gets to be a lot hanging on the needles. Crochet would definitely mitigate that somewhat. 120
