Woow they looks so good already! 😍 The final products will definitively be fantastic!!!

Thank you ;v; I somehow had never encountered either the reference or the redraws until that post, but I'm glad I did it only this late because I already barely had enough stills to draw what I wanted, earlier I wouldn't have at all! 😅

Thank you very much! ☺️

Thank you!! I'm not comfortable painting dark colors, but for the sake of the glow I had to 😤

Thank you!!! So many layers of things to remember to paint or to leave... I think it would have been a lot easier digitally 😭

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Thank you ;¬; I had to wait until the very end to remove the masking fluid to see if it glows properly, I would have screamed if it didn't after spending all this time painting 😭

The concept is totally inspired by this photo from Polina Washington I discovered in this post. I would never have thought of this if I didn't see this picture! (but also I don't do redraws, so it took lots of time for my brain to find a proper composition)

I've managed to draw and paint a little, but this drawing was a bit out of my comfort zone so I struggled a lot 😅 It's the main character of my old comic Replica. It's a bit difficult to explain, but him having his head cut is a bit important in the story.

Watercolor illustration of my OC lying on a tiled floor covered with some water and red rose petals scattered around him. He's holding full roses on both hands. There is a single ray of light going through his neck

His facial but also body expression are so good!!!

It's surprising but there are a lot of people out there who don't like staying home and I don't understand them. 😅

I'm still drawing a little when I need a break from playing, but it progresses slowly and it doesn't even look good as a WIP 😅

Thank you very much 🥰

Everything exactly the same as you!! Most of the time the authors just don't really bother with writing around the trope, they just take it raw and it's so hollow I want to cry, so those are obviously not well-written. Also I don't chase for particular tropes or they're not popular enough for that

"have a gallery where people can easily see your work" is good advice. "have your links in your bio/pinned" is good advice. "have your own website" is good advice. but what do you do when people go "ugh clicking on a link is so much work" lmao. like we have GOT to re-train people to take initiative

LMAO I've accepted the burden and if the composition is off, I either adapt it (by changing the balance of the whole composition) or I crop it after I scan it 😅 It's part of the deal with traditional art.

I have so many questions and they're all something like "why do this."

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Thank you!!! I'm happy if it really sounds like a fairytale!!! 😊 I really love painting the clouds with watercolor 10x more than with digital ;¬; it's so much easier to me!!

She looks super cute and I love how you rendered the clothes 😍

La composition est vraiment bien trouvée et trop jolie ! Et j'admire ta patience pour faire d'aussi belles plantes 💕 mention spéciale pour les effets d'eau et les gouttes aussi !!! 🥰

Thank you ❤️ I can't wait to find the perfect ideas to make the story stand properly, so I can start drawing it one day... ;¬; (so far it's only fragments of stories that are not well-linked yet)

Thank you Kasu 💕 I originally wanted to draw an astonomical clock but to be honest I don't understand how it works and I only needed the night theme, so a pretty ordinary clock does the job! 😂

000

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Thank you very much! The clock is totally inspired by a clock on a church on my way to the veterinary, I've been wanting to draw it for a while, I'm glad I could do it! 🥺

[Rendez-vous nocturne] (Trifolium fairytale AU) In the world of dreams, the prince would meet a mysterious boy who claims to be a prince too. They'd play all night, but once he wakes up, he'll forget about him. Only when asleep again can he remember about him.

Watercolor painting with two boys (one is sitting on a moon-shaped seat) surrounded by pink clouds with some shiny stars and starry sky behind. In the middle there is a giant clock

😥 but buying books is still a good recommendation, whether it is for reference, a manga or a webcomic you want to reread later. Because they might be not available anymore on the internet one day 😭

000

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

It really feels like people pay for things they don't own anymore nowadays and those things can just disappear on a whim if someone thinks they're "bad". Movies/series, music, games, webcomics and now assets... 😓

If readers left comments more often, they might be surprised how much it makes the author happy and motivates them to do this much! I checked and yeah my site was launched something like the week after I got this message! XD

010

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

lol thank you Dende! I've saved the comments already (since people have been commenting less 😔) so it's fine

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I didn't really expect it but I also didn't expect SmackJeeves to shut down either. 😅 And because a reader reached me to me tell me they wanted to read my comic Replica again, I made a website (yes it truly was because of that one perso I don't even know!) cynabrum.wordpress.com/comics/

perfektzusammen asked :
Hi cyna! I am one of your readers from smackjeeves. I read replica so many times! And i wanted to do so again but then smackjeeves went down and I dont think you ever posted that beautiful comic anywhere else? If it's not too much trouble, could you please post it on a different platform so I could reread it again? I'm dying to read it again *3 crying emoji*
I had a copy but it was on my old computer and it went caput. Thank you for your time!

It looks SO GOOD!! 😍 It makes it worth delaying this one for a better result! 🥰 the colors and lighting especially look it was challenging! But you did so well with it!

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

I'll try to draw a proper art for them next year, I am such a bad mom! 😅

Cyna @cynabrum.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

I now believe every traditional artist has several scanners 🤣 (I do and my friend too) But it's very good for you if it scans better!!! 🥰
