Regardless I heavily recommend but more so after playing Silver Case. Its entirely possible to do it standalone! But its somewhat of a Nier to Automata situation where if ya never played the first game some of the narrative beats they touch on in the sequel wont hit the same for ya.

Its been a couple days since I did it but I beat Flower, Sun, and Rain! I understand why its such a cult classic among Suda51 fans. Is it tedious? Yeah a bit especially that last level. But the second half is so rewarding especially after playing Silver Case. I just love how they tied everything up.
