Bits of Counterparts chat with the #RushFamily yesterday so I woke up with Animate going around my head. What an intro, what à propulsive bass line, what a track, what a @rushtheband album. Music doesn’t get much better for me. #NowPlaying #MusicSky

Saint Etienne at the Olympia last night. Such fun. A fond farewell. Stormtrooper in Drag was banging.

I’m listing and selling most of my records, again, on Discogs. Having a bit of a ‘what’s the point?’ crisis. But whether they want it or not, my kids are getting my ‘In Rainbows’ box set, not selling this one. As good an album as any other I own. #NowPlaying #MusicSky

Bought with my own pocket money (50p?) 46 years ago. My youngest loves this song (as do I). Shes only ever heard it on digital playback and declared it sounded ‘fast’ Got me thinking, would it have been slightly sped up from the masters to press onto a 7”? Any of you knowledgeable folk shed light?

Seeing Saint Etienne on their farewell lap was like getting a warm hug to the soul from a friend of 35 years. Whic was the case also as friends of long standing flew in from Boston and Geneva for the show. How can you not love that band. Thank you Bob Pete and Sarah. And Doc and Mel ❤️❤️ #SaintEtienne

So what way do we look at this? Jesus fucking Christ, that’s horrific. Or, à team packed full of senior and U21 Internationals and lots of EPL experience. 🤷‍♂️ 4 goals for us today; Wissa, Thiaw, Barnes, Willock. Let’s hope Hull don’t score 5 😬 #NUFC HTL 🖤🤍

Surely with England’s LB and RB and a German international CB, at home, we shouldn’t be shitting our pants about Hull bagging up like Leeds did? As much as we seemed headed for a battering, duly arrived, maybe we’re due to dish one out too. 🤷‍♂️🤞🖤🤍 #NUFC

You can never be ready for it. RIP Monty. My best friend. My shadow. My confidante. He was a smelly, scruffy, obnoxious, loyal and hilarious companion. The very best. And he leaves me lost and broken. And I will miss him terribly forever. Bless you my best boy 💔

More exploring The Village. Good to see there were no objections to the replacement corpse and would the man in the 1977 t shirt from the 1974 Fete photos please explain himself! #StevenWilson #requiemforavillage

Had fun yesterday navigating around The Village website. Wow that was a labour of love for someone. ‘Sedatives’ made me chuckle (iykyk) And looks like new music this Friday. Pre orders for November release imminent…🤞 #StevenWilson #requiemforavillage

Sometimes you just want the classics. I know it’s littered with a Who’s Who of players but it’s really hard to beat that Levin/Katche rhythm section in tandem. Just an all-timer of an album really. #NowPlaying #MusicSky

Along with King Ghost, my favourite track from the TFB recordings. The propulsion of Tangerine Dream with the pomp of Frankie, a real homage to 80’s electro-pop. Now, isn’t it about time we had a The Overview tour physical live drop of records/blu ray? Steven? Hello?? #NowPlaying #StevenWilson

Well… that’s gonna be hard to beat!!! What a truly phenomenal show by RUSH last night! 🤩🤯 Amazing playing, sound, setlist, visuals… To me, the best performance I’ve seen from Alex and Geddy since before the Time Machine tour. Anika was also amazing! Simply unforgettable! ❤️ #RushFamily #LiveMusic

The ‘big’ players that left #NUFC are history, I don’t give a fuck whether they sink or swim, thanks, goodbye. But part of me wonders how fantastic a fully motivated AG10 would’ve done with this coach/system/new squad. 🤷‍♂️ A transformative window it’s been. The vibes are (mostly) good. ⬆️🖤🤍

Shiny new copy of 8 Years Later. My other one has an insufferable ‘click’ that spoils my listening, and it’s my favourite TPT record, so this new combo release was a no brainer. Sounds immaculate #NowPlaying @burningshed.com

#NUFC Pick a front 4 from Osula, Wissa, Toure, Elanga, Pardo and that’s a shit-tonne of pace with any combo. Whether it can be cohesive and effective is down to MJ and the coaches, but the raw materials are there to put the shits up opposition defences 🤞

#NUFC It’s ok to let Woltemade and Murphy go. It is NOT ok to fail to replace them. And you’d still want a 10 or we’re looking at all season with just Wissa and Osula as strikers. That’s a gamble even Tonali wouldn’t lump on.

Very proud of Mrs Dickson this morning, completing her 250th Park Run. That’s 1250km into those legeens. Come rain, hail, shine or hangover, the dedicated runners of Castlebar show up every week. Fair play. Shes à mighty woman 💪❤️ #parkrun
