Totally hear you. When you’re sending files, you just want to send files — not scroll past half a homepage to do it. At Smash, we’ve tried to keep the experience focused on one thing: fast, no-size-limit transfers without clutter getting in the way. If you’re curious, we’re at fromsmash.com

Verständlich. Genau deshalb haben wir Smash (fromsmash.com) gebaut: Dateien bleiben Eigentum ihrer Urheber.

Romaric Gouedard-Comte @cycleek.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

Exactly. For artists and creators, ownership and clarity really matter. That’s what we focused on when building Smash fromsmash.com

Thanks for sharing and for the trust. We built Smash exactly for this.

I get the reaction. This kind of change is exactly why we built Smash (fromsmash.com) differently, from day one.

Romaric Gouedard-Comte @cycleek.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

Romaric Gouedard-Comte @cycleek.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

We built Smash (fromsmash.com) precisely for this reason. Your files are not used, analyzed, or trained on. Ever. Unlimited file size, simple sharing, privacy by default.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation, Konstantin. Smash (fromsmash.com) was built exactly for this use case: simple, one-off file transfers, without turning your data into a product. Trust and respect for users come first ;-)

Tks Andy for giving Smash a try. FYI, we built it with a very clear principle in mind: your files are your files. We don’t scrape, reuse or exploit what you share. We know trust is earned over time, not promised in Ts&Cs, so we’ll just focus on delivering a service that respects you and your data.

Big news indeed. Always great to see new products emerging around simplicity, respect for users and strong product values. The space definitely benefits from that.

If you're looking for a secure and respectful alternative, have a look at Smash (fromsmash.com) — we created it 8 years ago in France with my brother Rémi and a small team of designers and developers. No AI training, no tracking, no hidden terms.

Caught red-handed 😄 I co-founded Smash 8 years ago — we’re a small team based in France, building a privacy-first file transfer tool, far from Silicon Valley habits. So yep, not a paid rep... just personally invested! Thanks for the kind words about the pitch — always happy to answer any questions.

Totally get your decision, Pete. If you're looking for an alternative that doesn’t touch your files — no AI training, no rights claimed — you might want to check out Smash (fromsmash.com). Been doing things differently from day one.

Totally agree, Marie. In the case of WeTransfer, at least there is a solid alternative out there — Smash (fromsmash.com) — no AI, no rights claimed, and privacy fully respected. But yes, when there's no plan B… that's when it gets worrying.

Exactly. At Smash, we believe file transfers should be treated with the same respect as sealed envelopes: private, secure, and untouchable. No AI, no data exploitation, just a simple promise — your files stay yours.
