‪I’m genuinely weirded out by this idea that “war corrupts everyone equally”. Wars don’t just appear - people start them. There are aggressors, and there are those forced to defend. Flattening that into “war is bad for everyone” feels like a gross oversimplification, I hate it.‬

This may be an inflammatory take, but deepening cooperation with authoritarian regimes is not good news. Governments that choose this path could instead help Ukraine incapacitate Russia and decisively tip the whole power scale in their favor, rather than trying to balance it with infamous myopia.

I keep seeing “by 2027–2030” and genuinely don’t think the rest of Europe has that much time to build deterrence, let alone gear up for war; nor do I understand why so many prefer to gamble on it when supporting Ukraine adequately and incapacitating Russia is still possible now.

Another drone attack happening again, but that’s just Kyiv. They destroyed a historical building in Kherson, hit a civilian train with three drones, attacked Odesa, ruining people’s homes, killed civilians evacuating from the frontlines… too much pain for one people to handle.

Every time I see monitors sharing information on upcoming massive strikes, I lose all energy and motivation to do anything at all. Like, what’s the point? They will make my home city unlivable. We’re still on emergency blackouts since the last big attack. It’s −17 °C at night.

I honestly feel so devastated. It’s clear that we’re lacking air defence capabilities. I keep hearing that our “allies” are delaying shipments, so our guys don’t have enough to intercept missiles. Only ~20% of Kyiv has electricity at this moment. I don’t want to freeze to death.

I venture to say something debatable, but while Ukraine has grown stronger over the past years, the dangers to the West have grown stronger too. To the point that even if Ukraine somehow secures its borders tomorrow, Russia’s ease and prowess in manipulating the West might still lead to calamities.

I think an underrated variable in NATO trainings is how performance would change when forces know their families are safe at home vs. under constant shelling or worse, and when they’re trained to rely on allied backup vs. face a fact: no one’s coming. The truth is: NATO can’t know that.
