There is no contradiction at all. Ilya Prigogine got his Nobel Prize for discovering that open systems far from equilibrium reduce their entropy on average by offloading excess to their environment. That leads to low-entropy systems in high-entropy areas, the source of all structure in the universe.

#Septopolis City layout in my story? Cities on Venus are flocks of airships. They keep changing shape, self-organizing through the rhythms of complex city life, which looks similar to how starling flocks are in the linked video—except the flying cities are miles in extent. youtu.be/V4f_1_r80RY

Re-evaluate? It doesn’t matter what improvements, even infinite computing power, thermodynamics is a bitch. A purely digital system cannot be far from equilibrium and therefore cannot reduce its entropy. AI must be plugged into a human framework to achieve anything. Left on its own, it’ll stagnate.

The real danger is that they are useful but can’t go over mediocrity. That way, everyone is encouraged to stoop down to their level instead of pursuing excellence. Because a purely digital system cannot reduce its entropy, this can lead us all into stagnation and decay.

The ‘tl’ consonant in Nahuatl is so damn hard to pronounce! The sides of my tongue just don’t drop down fast enough. Must be why so many people mispronounce Aztec names all the time, as if ‘tl’ is really a ‘t’ followed by an ‘l’ instead of a devilishly difficult single consonant.

A snippet from Book 2 in my series (not a single mention of “gold” in Book 1, alas). #WritingPrompt
The daybreak star.

The thinnest band of light kissed the horizon. But before the sun could banish all of the remaining stars, I saw it in the eastern sky—so low, so close to the rising sun that it would soon be swallowed by the intense sunlight.

“Áŋpo wičháȟpi!” I exclaimed.

Behind me, I heard someone muttering, “Ooh, the Old Tongue again….”

But all my focus was on Venus in the morning sky.

Then, it was gone—and in its place, a moving spot of dark appeared against the swell of burning gold. It grew in size.

«Hey, Twin?» I tried.

No response.

“Hey!” Someone bumped me. “Cyborgs coming. Scoot!”

But I already knew that it was pointless to hide. Dad had found me.

My Bk 1’s four main characters live at a cutthroat military school, where the survival pressure pushes them into tight teams that usually become polyamorous families. The stress is constant, from vicious rivalry to training bordering on torture. They release it with each other. #AwesomeCharacters

People just want to find a “simple” way to tell if something has been written by an AI. But that makes light of the human ability to judge the whole. It will always be the forest, never any tree. Always the whole style, never a grammar idiosyncrasy.
