In Greek mythology, Xarpo is the goddess who provided food for the community and is in charge of Autumn, as well as the ripening & harvesting of produce, and the ushering in of cooler air. Fun fact, her name can also mean 'Fruit'! #FolkloreThursday 🎨 Horae Serenae, by Sir Edward John Poynter (1896)

Poludnitsa, also known as Lady Midday or the Noon Witch, is a figure in Eastern European mythology. Usually pictured as a young woman dressed in white roaming the field bounds, she assails folk working at noon, causing heatstrokes and even madness. #WyrdWednesday 🎨 by Sergei Demidov

Y'all remember that ghost hidden in the 1987 movie 3 Men & A Baby? The one that was supposed to be the spirit of a 13 year old boy who shot himself in the apartment the movie was filmed in? Yep, here he is, and it's nothing more than a cardboard cut out of Ted Danson. Thank the gods. #SpookySunday
A scene from the movie 3 Men and a Baby. It shows a woman holding a baby, and a man stood behind him. Tucked away by the window is a spooky looking figure!

The Rain Woman, Svetlana Telets, painted in 1996. Multiple people have purchased the piece, only to return it after feeling a figure following them both at their homes & in their dreams. One owner of the work even believed that white eyes began to appear everywhere he looked! #WyrdWednesday
The painting features a pale, thin-faced woman wearing all black. The brim of her hat extends out, and the image is covered in wispy clouds that float lazily across the work.

"Unidentified Woman with a Distorted Spirit", from the Nebraska State Historical Society's collection on spirit photography. This one is different to the usual examples of spirit photography, as it eschews the usual 'cut-out' style of spirit for something far more macabre. #SpookySunday
