Bad Bunny knows it. James Baldwin knew it. Love is a powerful, permanent presence in our lives, despite everything- and it is transformative. Kissing is not just romantic, it can also be political and spiritual, as I explain in a new documentary on arte. #valentines #CriticalAnthropology

This is what I keep telling students: you think AI is producing "good writing" and that it "thinks" because you have not actually learned what good writing and what critical thinking is, and if you want to survive in this hellscape, you have to learn these without AI.

I love this. I wish I saw this earlier when I was trying to give similar advice to a grad student. First drafts are not about perfection.

Exciting to see ulama (Mesoamerican hip ball) in the news again! I love that this report centers culture & kinship but I wonder if it's a coincidence that it sidesteps the #decolonization topic - unlike the earlier kpbs clip... #HispanicHeritageMonth www.10news.com/news/local-n...

I was today years old when I learned that my late nonno was a forced laborer under Nazis on Monte Baldo, province of Verona in the spring of 1945. He never spoke about it. We need to break the silences surrounding recent history - silences in public memory & in our own families.
