Many things have regressed, what would you say has improved? Wastewater was removed and is definitely good news. Sorry to hear about the diabetes. How frustrating! Which type? Type 2 is potentially reversible - if you are lucky.

Surprising message of the day! Eliminating infectious children from the classroom helps the individual child to recover, and it protects everyone else from infections. Well done this preschool! 👏👏👏

Good morning

Due to the ongoing flu like symptoms going through the school we cannot rule out Covid even though tests may come back negative. There is a new variant going around the UK and the symptoms include:

High Temperature

Cough

Runny Nose

Body Aches

Headache

Loss of taste and smell

We have had so many poorly children and staff with these symptoms and we don't want it spread. Please keep your child at home if they present with any of these symptoms and do not bring them back until they are better.

Staff will be checking temperatures and if they think your child has any of these symptom's they will be sending your child home to recover.

This is a significant step. Homeless people are made Clinically Vulnerable due to their circumstances and should have always qualified for these vaccines. www.england.nhs.uk/2026/10/nhs-...
People experiencing homelessness can now get free flu and pneumococcal vaccinations as part of a new NHS programme.

Vaccines will be offered through outreach teams, hostels, pop-up clinics and mobile vans.

Why should we clean the air in schools? - Reduces pollutants which cause asthma, multiple cancers, and dementia. - More resilient to airborne disease and pandemics We need health-based standards for air quality in schools. Fund ventilation filtration and maintenance. #HIAS2026

Around 30,000 people have shortened lives due to air pollution - and that is not including the impact of airborne infections The time to act is now. The science is clear. The costs of improving indoor air quality will be rapidly repaid. We *must*] improve indoor air quality. 2/2

3. We must turn our commitment into concrete cooperation supporting countries and ensuring. We must be able to ensure environments that protect health, as indoor air must not be a privilege, it must become the norm and this is the challenge that we must take together.

2. We must strengthen our ability to joint define the quality levels we expect from our indoor environments, as well as the means to measure and achieve them based on science, data, and the sharing of best practices.

“Complacency leaves the world vulnerable.” An epidemic or pandemic doesn’t emerge fully formed. Prevention starts long before an outbreak becomes a crisis. Complacency leaves vulnerable people exposed - which is why preparedness must begin now, not after the next next crisis.

We are talking at cross purposes about two different types of equipment. Fume cupboards in science labs vs Class II biological safety cabinets. Really sorry to hear about the impact on your health, that sounds absolutely awful! Thankfully, room air filters are much simpler.

Clinically Vulnerable Families 💙💜💗 @cvcev.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
Depending on room volume / occupancy, the filters need to be changed every 6-12mnths. Hoods are not the same thing (they are a containment device for fumes / pathogens and vent outside). The financial argument is that they save more money than they cost, by reducing all-cause sickness by 20%.

Six months on, why hasn't there been action on clean air in healthcare? The Inquiry said air filtration should be prioritised across the UK. But it has slipped through the cracks of the government’s response. What happened - and what can YOU do? 👇

Yes, but it was M8 (which even the Inquiry hasn’t responded to yet). Without CVF, air quality wouldn’t have been considered at the Inquiry in relation to schools. We repeatedly requested experts, then brought other participants on board. Prof Cath Noakes was eventually questioned.

😷 How did a medical mask go from public health protection to public order issue? One designation this summer covered 10 council wards for short march. The restriction applied to people who were not involved or near it. My piece for @netpol.org: netpol.org/2026/09/15/w...

If you’re Clinically Vulnerable, do you know your risk of sepsis and would you recognise the signs? Today is #WorldSepsisDay 💔We remember Liz Hipkiss, a beloved CVF member who lost her life to sepsis, Dec 21. We need CV people and their families to know when to seek help. 1/

What Is Sepsis?

Sepsis arises when the body's response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs. It may lead to shock, multi-organ failure, and death - especially if not recognized early and treated promptly.
