Right? Everyone's unique. We can't learn if you won't teach us. 🫣

Tornados are dangerous. I think the fastest you can be safely spun is like a record baby, right round round round.

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Agreed. Even if I've been scammed, I'd actually prefer to at least be told I've been scammed than wait and hope there's just been a ridiculous mistake.

Can't help answer that. My school ordered from a local pizza place, so if I ever had that craving, I know where to go. Unfortunately it was not particularly good pizza though, so I've never had a craving for it. 😁

The campaign said (and still says) that shipping would be an additional $7 after the campaign closed and included packaging and everything else. They've sent an email to pay for shipping but it's now $49, about the same price as the product, and they're ignoring all messages and public comments.

I'm coming to terms with the fact that I fell for a Kickstarter scam. I haven't supported too many crowdfunding campaigns, but I hear scams are more common than I realized. Link to scam: www.kickstarter.com/projects/111... Who else out there has been scammed? Care to share any details?

@cathypegau.bsky.social I'm no expert, but I think I finally got it this year. Happy birthday Cathy! Have an awesome day!

I'm in Canada, watching Rome burn, occasionally getting burned by sparks from the fire, wishing I had any power to help put out the flames.

It's kind of surprising that he didn't try to fit the word gold into the name somehow since he's so obsessed with it.

010

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Similar for me. I have a TV in my living room but I still often end up watching things on my phone or tablet specifically because they're portable.

Alright then. You can have your choice of Rob or Doug (or both!) and we'll take Mark Hamill. I promise we'll take good care of him. 😁

110

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

That might be complicated. Rob died a few years ago. His brother Doug is the current premier of Ontario in case that's who you meant. Rob was a dummy but I hear he was at least generally a nice guy. Doug is the malevolent brother. Rumour is that he was a drug dealer when he was younger.

Nextdoor is just Facebook for neighbours instead of friends. Avoid for anything not necessary.

I'm a supporter of MAID, but what Kelly is saying is legitimate. It does sometimes get presented and even pushed as an option to those who have no interest in it, even though it's only supposed to be by patient request.

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I appreciate your explanation. I understand I will still be using Google services and they will still make some profit from my usage. My purpose is just to avoid spending any money directly from my own wallet on their products.

100

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Same actually. I had the original Samsung Galaxy S before switching to the Google Nexus 5 (which was a rebranded LG), probably still my 2 favourite phones. The Pixel series have been good for me but I actually prefer the smaller screen and lighter weight of the older models for one-handed use.

010

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Much appreciated. My concern is primarily about not giving money to Google. The tougher part will be replacing my Google One subscription, but luckily I have almost a full year to sort that out.

010

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Thanks. I think it's probably down to just the two companies. More research to do though!

010

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I've read up on Graphene. Sounds really interesting but I want a brand new phone anyway (better CPU, more memory, new battery) so it probably won't factor into my decision. I may try loading it on my current Pixel 7 though once I've migrated, just to play around with.

010

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Samsung doesn't pay anything to Google though (Android is free), so that's no problem as far as I'm concerned. I'll be sticking with Android, just not Google's own product line.

110

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Motorola is now Chinese owned, so it's not on my radar. I appreciate the feedback though!

110

Curt 🇨🇦 @curttalkstv.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I was planning to buy a new phone this autumn or winter. For the first time in well over a decade, it looks like it's not going to be one with Google's logo on it. So... should I give my phone money to Samsung or Sony?

I presume that suggesting he drown would be a little too dark for some people. (Not to me, but for some people.)
