Not much has changed in my mind from when I posted this on my Rear Admiral Pike RP account (I still have the account, I just don't write much there 'cause Star Trek RP on Twitter is very much just uh, me) I get on this tangent at LEAST once every 6 months

The Admiral looks so damned tired. Exhausted. This is a uniform style from the late 2270s, so it's likely that this guy is looking at upwards of a DECADE of the Romulan-Federation war at this point.

So. Tired.

It's terrifying from his perspective that, no matter what he does, he can't prevent his fate without great cost—and it's frustrating to ME that a casting change 40+ years ago wedges this character into a storytelling dead end that was completely unnecessary from the start.

"You have to go through an extreme amount of suffering and then get relegated to an eternal LSD trip and some Starfleet lipservice, otherwise THIS ONE GUY who happens to be your friend will suffer instead, every time, and ROCKS FALL EVERYONE DIES"

It's INCREDIBLY frustrating because Star Trek has always had this—I dunno, this HOPE. There's always HOPE.

Except for Pike.

Discovery showed, too, very early on that there are so many possibilities for medical care regardless of how 𝘣𝘢𝘥 your injuries are.

I have one of these tables for my laptop, 'cause I sit on the couch and pick at it, but it is Very Not Working. 'Feet' are too thick, so it can't slide under the couch, and I can't pull the laptop close enough for comfortable use. Anybody else have any alternatives that they're using?

... 8 GB RAM is not enough for Windows 10 lmaooo. That's what this PC came with. Here's hoping it's feasible to upgrade this thing otherwise it may be time to start looking for a slightly better machine. I don't remember what ma paid for it but this is the PC we used at the store.
