We turned our last day into a pilgrimage of sorts to St Teresanof Avila. Birthplace, baptism, childhood run-away, convent etc We have become exceedingly fond of her. And we saw her finger, and that of St John of the Cross who also did a drawing of his vision of the cross, among other amazing relics

We just nearly got locked in Avila cathedral, as we have a habit of deeply studying things. It is STUNNING. Lorena had a Big Key and let us out. And despite our ticket being single entry, will talk to her boss to let us in again tomorrow to finish.

We visited our 143rd and 144th cathedrals of the holiday today, because Salamanca has two. They'd only just finished the first when they realised they were rich and it looked a bit crap. So the old one is now basically a sub-chapel of the new one. Which has these fabulous towering columns.
