Fun fact: With L-dopa alone, patients would have nausea and vomiting. The drug Sinemet (sin:without emesis:vomiting) was named for solving this problem! Adding Carbidopa (an inhibitor of the enzyme that activates L-dopa) only blocks its action before the BBB! Thanks, @curiousclinpod.bsky.social!
