when trying to edit a post on bluesky the CID (content identifier) gets modified or replaced. hence why likes on recently modified post gets set to zero. this is because app.bsky.feed.like record is also referencing the old CID before the edit.

I just realize that I also need to provide my own private signing key (the "verificationMethods" property inside my DID document) if I want to generate a service auth token offline. Will this affect the PDS ability to sign my repos or this key does not use at all? I don't know.

The private key works! woo! ^o^ Unfortunately, you'd have to specify it in DID as it won't index your regular username and won't resolve back to your DID either.

A PDSls webpage showing a test account getting takendown by the PDS admin.

Using regular username in boat.kelinci.net shows no results while the account is takendown.

Specify it with DID does give you full access if provided a private rotation key before account takedown.

The result of manually updated DID document in boat.kelinci.net updating a signing key while account is in takedown. This way it can generate a service auth token offline even when the server is offline.

currently, making a recovery key for your account requires extra step, involving a terminal. i use this app (boat.kelinci.net) to create a key for me and arrange it at the top of my DID document.

i may not have a good answer for this, but. i'd always create a backup recovery key for myself before the suspension happens. so that i can use that key to migrate away from that suspended PDS to a new PDS. more details here: atproto.com/guides/accou...
