Instead of hiring educational assistants or addressing classroom sizes, Danielle Smith would rather ban books like The Handmaid's Tale. (Yes, that's really on the list of banned books here in Alberta.) Just fund the darn schools, Premier.

You know what’s nuts? Making people work for free. Unpaid work won’t fly!

Canada’s new anti-scab legislation is in effect! That means federally-regulated employers can’t hire scabs during strikes and lockouts. This is a reminder that advocacy WORKS and that, thanks to the hard work of the NDP and union activists across the country, when we stand together, we win.

“There is no case for leaving the CPP,” said Uppal. “An Alberta plan would cost more, and deliver weaker investment returns and smaller pensions.” Uppal called on the UCP government to abandon all plans to take Alberta out of the Canada Pension Plan.

The results were released by the government after a lengthy request for information by the Edmonton Journal. CUPE Alberta President Raj Uppal says she was not surprised the survey showed 63% opposition to leaving the CPP, and only 10% support for an Alberta plan.

For CUPE zoo keepers, caring for animals isn’t just a job. It’s a calling. They show up with compassion and dedication every day because to them, these animals are more than just exhibits. They’re family. Thank you, CUPE 30 zoo keepers! 🐾
