The latest episode of Severance (S02E07) gave me so many David Lynch vibes. Canadian cinematographer Jessica Lee Gagné's directorial debut was a stunning achievement. I love seeing Lynch live on in the works of the next generation of filmmakers.

I rather liked the movie, "Presence". A slow burn with great acting. Takes a while to build momentum but by the end it pays off very effectively. Soderbergh's cinematography almost became a bit intrusive but it worked for the story's premise. An inventive flip on the haunted house motif.

I love seeing all the tributes to David Lynch. I think it's also worth pointing out how he put a great deal of effort into the audio in his movies; the ambience. He knew what audio can bring to the visual medium. Listen to Eraserhead. It's 10x creepier thanks to that unsettling drone throughout.

Drone update: in south Jerz, just across the river from Philly. Two drones spotted flying back and forth, north/south. Kinda wild to see them for myself. I can only assume they’re flown by paparazzi trying to get photos of me 🤪
