I'm about to write a disruptive essay. It's going to challenge how we apply Matt 18.15ff. My priest said it "wasn't provocative at all" then we laughed. Truth is, I'm scared to write this one. Especially given the discourse of clergy leaving their positions that is going on. But it needs to be said.

Well, we're gonna be short on rent by about $1000 come the 18th. Shit. If you could help us cover that gap (if you can) while I look for a second job, I'd appreciate it. PayPal.me/aaronjsmith

I kinda love this essay I'm writing. I also want to burn it to the ground and salt the ashes. It's a hot mess.

My writing muscles have stalled out. I just can't seem to get them moving again. I have inspiration, and motivation, but the doing of the work is nearly impossible. Everytime I sit down to write, it feels like milking rocks.

Well, this sucks. We're in the hole from last months rent, and need to pick up some groceries and pay some bills. We could use about &- $1200 to keep us afloat. If you could help us out, we'd appreciate it. PayPal.me/aaronjsmith

I would like a popular movie to come out and Christians not flock to talk about it's religious implications. Let a movie be a movie, not a sermon or a book deal.

I keep trying to write about the love of God and all I'm bumping up against tonight is my doubt that God even exists. Some Christian author I am.

Twitter just reinstated the account of a person who shared child p0#n on Twitter, that Twitter left up and accessible for a while. I'm done. I deactivated, and I suggest you do to. It is not just a trash heap. It is literally doing outright evil. I wash my hands of that place.

I can't get a lit agent. 1-i don't know how 2-the few I queried told me I needed a MUCH bigger platform (like 10,000 which is like whoa). So, I'm publishing my book 'Learning to Let God Love Me' on Substack. If you would like to join me as a reader, let me know and I'll get you the discount link.

In a world that's falling apart, filled with systemic racism, bigotry, sexism, classism, not to mention war and health care crisis, writing about God's love seems like such a small petulant thing, not really worth it.

The vestry of my church voted unanimously to put me forward for postulancy for the diaconate in the Episcopal church. So this is really happening.

@dianabutlerbass.bsky.social I finished re-reading "The Forgotten Creed" again today. I'm truly struck by the way the early Xians held power amongst themselves, especially when comparing it to the Kenotic nature of Jesus/God.

Worrying about money is the worst. It just creates cycles of thoughts that go over and over in your head with all the worst cast scenarios. It feels insurmountable, and often there is no quick solution. THe. Worst.
