if you work for a large corporation, I can assure you there is a non-trivial amount of people working in your IT department right now who understand technology less than you do, whatever position you happen to have, even if it's not tech or computer adjacent. and those people don't care, either.

I’m only using an 8TB drive, but I delete stuff when I’m done with it so it’s never been more than half full As someone who used to have a 25 disc cd changer, i would be astonished if a disc changer outlasted a random hard drive. The thing i had was finicky as hell

ah, i use a NAS and jellyfin for that! if you have a crappy little linux machine of some sort that you can attach a hard drive or two to you can use jellyfin to stream music/tv/movies to tvs/phones/whatever, setting the server end up takes a little effort but the client side is very easy
