The peregrine then done a couple of wide circles above my head gaining height then heading off towards Lichfield. Awesome sight and one of those right place, right time moments

Just got to the open space in Larks Rise woodland this morning and heard a thud and "kek kek kek", looked up to see a cloud of feathers and a feral pigeon dropping like a stone, the peregrine was in a 10G turn, powered across and grabbed the pigeon before it dropped into the trees,

Grant Hames @cuckoobirder.bsky.social · 26/08/2026
What an insane thunderstorm here in Burntwood staffs, non stop lightning and thunder for nearly an hour and torrential rain towards the end, lots of local flooding

Don't know about cirl buntings but if you're near Poole book a trip with Birds of Poole Harbour and you're more or less guaranteed white tailed eagles (they know the favourite roosting cliff and trees) with a good chance of osprey

To say I had fairly decent views of the white tailed eagles hunting in Poole Harbour is an understatement. Boat trip with @harbourbirds.bsky.social this afternoon. Both birds actively hunting this one caught a flounder

Belated news from the garden blackbirds, the lone female has fledged 2 chicks thiz afternoon
020
Grant Hames @cuckoobirder.bsky.social · 15/07/2026
Sad news from the garden blackbirds I'm afraid. The male has not been seen for 2 days presumably taken by a cat or sparrowhawk however the female is valientely carrying on feeding 2 well grown chicks on her own, should be fledged in 3 or so days fingers crossed
