Also that the key way to give positive feedback to kids, was not “good job” but “you worked hard." This did not make sense to me until it was explained: “Good job” is praise for an outcome. Kids who only get this feedback realize they are praised only with achievement, and then configure their environment to get more praise by ensuring they are receiving achievement awards.
