While tabling for Connecticut Explored, I took time to see the Holocaust memorial newly dedicated at Fairfield University. It certainly was an emotional experience. This is a Jesuit campus. The memorial invites reflection. www.fairfield.edu/museum/exhib...

The Lyman Allyn Art Museum NEW EXHIBIT: Isaac Sheffield: Portraits from New London’s Whaling Era, Sept. 12 to Jan. 3, 2027. The exhibition, the 1st to focus on the work of artist Isaac Sheffield, Jr., examines his portraits & miniatures of the 1830s & 1840s at the height of New London’s whaling era.

At Haddam Meadows today. A great blue heron and several egrets were visible but my camera wasn’t good enough to capture them in the distance. Indigo bunting, cardinals, redwing blackbirds, etc. and lots of butterflies.

Supreme Court Upholds Birthright Citizenship; blocked Trump’s executive order banning birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants and some temporary foreign visitors. Gorsuch, Thomas, and Alito dissented. Kavanaugh wrote a separate opinion. Majority opinion by Justice Roberts:
