The more completely a practitioner is convinced of the power of their own word, the more power that word will have. —Ernest Holmes, "The Science of Mind" and included in Science of Mind magazine's Daily Guide for October 13, 2026. @scienceofmindmag.bsky.social

When we befriend our shadow and accept all parts of ourselves as Divine, we stop projecting and start participating. Our subconscious and conscious selves move toward harmony, and relationships become less about reactivity and more about reflection and connection.

We have within ourselves the key to every situation, but we must come to realize our relation to the whole. That relationship is one of perfect unity. —Ernest Holmes, "The Science of Mind" and included in Science of Mind magazine's Daily Guide for October 12, 2026 @scienceofmindmag.bsky.social

Relationships are powerful teachers that feel like dancing the tango. When we avoid the internal work of integration, our unprocessed and unhealed parts can begin to lead, causing us to react from our unconscious patterns rather than intentional decisions.

Our lives are filled with many relationships including family, friends, partners, colleagues, acquaintances, and even interactions with strangers. They can be complex, messy, beautiful, difficult, exciting, and transformative. This week, we are dancing the Shadow Tango together.

...there is a divine being and each of us is made in that image and must reenact and portray the same attributes as the life from which we came. —Ernest Holmes, "The Science of Mind" and included in Science of Mind magazine's Daily Guide for October 9, 2026. @scienceofmindmag.bsky.social

Our shadows are beautiful, necessary parts of us. They are our guides, teachers, and gifts. As we learn to dance with our shadows and embrace the totality of who we are, our power grows exponentially. We become intentional co-creators of life and it becomes easier to live on purpose.

It is said that when the gods decided to make people and make each a divine being, they held a long discussion as to where would be the best place to hide this divinity...—Ernest Holmes, "The Science of Mind" and in Science of Mind magazine's Daily Guide for Oct. 8. @scienceofmindmag.bsky.social

Shadow work asks us to stop editing ourselves and start honoring every part of who we are. When we hide our feelings or contort ourselves to fit in, we don’t avoid the pain—we just bury it, and it shows up elsewhere.

When we stop treating our shadow like a shameful secret and start approaching it with curiosity and even playfulness, we open the door to something sacred. We start to see the beauty in the dark, not because the dark is easy, but because it’s honest.

From the standpoint of immortality, we may have a body within a body to infinity; and when this body is rendered useless and is no longer a fit instrument through which to function, another one may be already there. —Ernest Holmes, "The Science of Mind" and in SoM mag. @scienceofmindmag.bsky.social

Our shadow isn’t a flaw to fix, rather it’s part of what makes us beautifully human. It holds our unmet needs, pain, and often, greatest power. As we integrate it, we become more spiritually powerful, grounded in our truth, and aligned with our soul’s purpose.

We’ve been taught to associate light with good and dark with bad—but this framing isn't neutral. In reality, light, dark, and everything in between are sacred. When we pathologize darkness, we reject half of our humanity—and entire communities along with it.

Ever feel like shadow work is just stomping in place, stuck and frustrated? Together, we’ll move through shadow with laughter, healing, and self-acceptance. Because facing our shadows doesn’t have to be heavy—sometimes, they just want to dance.
