In our society, cost beats ethics, but cost is now racing in the right direction. Thank God. Based on the BLOOMBERG NEF report: QUOTE: "Solar will become the largest source of power in the next decade, surpassing coal, oil and natural gas, according to a new report from BloombergNEF.

I'm used to having only a handful of environmental peers share my enthusiasm for space exploration. For me space exploration actually INFORMS my instinct to protect this biosphere. From space, we contemplate the "Earth in context." Its fragility. Far from being split priorities, they are symbiotic.

We are entering a SUPER-El Niño. Sea surface temps in the Pacific are increasing and will affect the United States. Worldwide, even regular El Niños accelerate the global warming trend and often push us to a new high-temperature mark. This is a much stronger than average El Niño.

NYTimes visual investigation: • It was a school, and many children died. • All of the evidence so far points to a US strike and not an Israeli one. • The school was next door to an IRGC facility, and before 2013, the property was a part of the facility. It has not been since then.

A very good review of the timeline and characters that have brought us to this moment. This one is worth keeping in the back pocket for reference. And the crazy details, like Mandy Gunasekara being the same woman who handed Sen James Inhofe that snowball all those years ago, make this a rich read.

The Trump administration is simultaneously stopping action and research on climate while also claiming a heating planet makes the acquisition of Greenland a more pressing issue because new Arctic shipping lanes for Russia and China are opening in the melting ice. So is it a real threat or not?
