My cousin collapsed at home Friday morning after vomiting most of Thursday night. Was in the hospital all day Friday. A MRI wasn’t done until yesterday after family requested a hospital transfer. She had 2 strokes and is now in a vegetative state. The second one happened in the ER The rage I feel

Well the DA has a reputation of letting cases slip through the cracks. He has prosecuted several police officers. I don’t mind that, but his office has a laser focus on those cases so several other victims don’t get justice. I’ve seen it with several cases I worked.

True. Must’ve had damn good lawyers too. All charges against her were dismissed. And the guy (who I think she manipulated him into killing her abuser) was only charged with tampering with evidence/ impairment of a corpse, no murder charge. Pretty sure he’s free now smh

During Covid lockdown, I worked a murder where they shot him in the house, buried him in the backyard, covered him with cement (they kept the receipt) They got caught cuz the girl showed her friend her “new flowerbed” and said “Nicolas is under there 🫢”. Friend called 911

Can confirm. My former neighbor was in her 20s. Her mother (mid 40s and married) worked as a driver. Mom and side dude would use her apartment to meet up. His work truck would be in the parking lot. And all the other drivers and supervisors were well aware of the affair smh.

Yes I did an ancestry test as well. My paternal side (with both Black grandparents) has percentages of England and east Europe so clearly some of my ancestors were victims of SA. My native ancestry mostly comes from my Mexican grandmother and it’s the natives of central Mexico.

I took a course on African American history and culture at UT Austin and while slavery was discussed, the whole cannibalism was not mentioned at all. In some states, like mine, you have to educate yourself about it. How many white people want to know their ancestors were literally evil?

The problem is that the people who write and/or approve the curriculum are uncomfortable with their proximity to such atrocities so it isn’t taught. I grew up in west Texas and I didn’t learn about Juneteenth until I came to Austin for college. Wasn’t taught in my Texas history class at all.

They really are! And good ideas. I tried their steak, spinach, and feta pinwheels and they are delicious. I don’t think I would’ve ever thought to make that on my own before trying theirs.

It is really good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the original (think I’ve watched it once or twice) but if this is on tv, I’ll watch it.
