Horizont das typische Moorheide-Stadium:Sehr trocken u. viel Aufwuchs von Birken, die mühsam zurückgeschnitten werden müssen,da sie das Moor noch weiter entwässern.Totes Moor,Renaturierung wichtiger denn je

Na klar wäre das möglich und nötig. Betrifft eine große Menge an Moorflächen in Mittel- und Norddeutschland, aber eben auch grenzübergreifend. Für das Hohe Venn gab es zum Beispiel ein EU-Projekt von 2007-2012 (www.euregio-im-bild.de/fotos/renatu...), daran müsste man nun dringend anknüpfen.

Ja, ich kenne viele relativ intakte Moorflächen zum Beispiel aus dem Alpenvorland. Die Situation im Hohen Venn ist leider ein großflächig degradiertes Heidestadium mit kaum wachsendem Torfmoos und kaum echten Bult-Schlenken-Komplexen.

So ist es. Stark entwässertes Moor plus massive Aufforstungen mit Nadelholz-Monokulturen. Schade, wir hatten erst die letzten 2 Jahre Exkursionen dorthin gemacht und die letzten kleinen Flecken lebendes Hochmoor gesucht. Nun dringend Wiedervernässung und Renaturierung mit Bulttorfmoosen nötig.

Fascinating study, thanks for sharing! So what would you say: are Carabids just the wrong taxon for long term monitoring due to their high mobility and large required trapping effort? Maybe less mobile taxa would be easier to handle?
