We want to see farms growing and raising good food for their local communities thrive. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is an important model for making that happen, putting farmers and local people directly in touch with each other.  #agroecology #communityresilence #foodsovereignty

We are disappointed that the UK government has stopped the Sustainable Farming Initiative in England with no notice and with no consultation with the farming sector. This was their flagship environmental scheme, so where does it leave agroecological, sustainable farming?

CSA is an opportunity to exercise your economic power as a consumer and say that you want a food system that pays farmers fairly, treats your local landscape ethically and allows you and your community to be well fed. To support our work: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/community-...

It's easy to shop without thinking about where the produce has come from, whether it's in season, what the farmers were paid and how much it cost the earth. But if you can, source food directly from your farmer to secure their livelihood and make much needed economic, social and ecological change

Some of our thoughts from this year's ORFC. Our network coordinator Suzy Russell spoke with the Minister of State for Food Security & Rural Affairs, along with Rebecca Laughton from the Land workers Alliance & Cath Dalmeny from Sustain: The Alliance For Better Food & Farming.
Hands in soil, holding a vegetable root. Overlaid text reads: "Our agroecological farmers and growers deliver biodiversity, soil care, low carbon, health, education, public engagement and access to good food for all"Hands in soil, holding a vegetable root. Overlaid text reads: "This UK government needs to achieve where the last did not. We're calling on them to more widely support smaller-scale, agroecological growers and farmers"Hands in soil, holding a vegetable root. Overlaid text reads: "Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) isn't delivering yet for growers of less than 5 hectares. They need a better payment scheme as soon as possible"Hands in soil, holding a vegetable root. Overlaid text reads: "These farmers and growers hold a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills which cannot be passed on in books or training courses"
